Qld: Time for PM to act on Qld RFA, govt says
BRISBANE, Jan 13 AAP - The Queensland government today called on Prime Minister John
Howard to intervene in the deadlocked regional forests agreement (RFA) negotiations between
the Queensland and federal governments.
Acting Premier Jim Elder said state government officers were meeting with federal bureaucrats
today, but the discussions were at a stalemate because of political games being played
by Forestry Minister Wilson Tuckey.
Mr Tuckey has repeatedly criticised the Queensland RFA proposal, but Mr Elder said
