Vic: Nurses to make aged care funding an election issue = 2

Victorian Aged Care Minister Bronwyn Pike later blamed the federal government for the
shortage of aged care beds.

She said Victoria received less funding for aged care than any other state.

Ms Pike also accused her federal counterpart Bronwyn Bishop of refusing to license
beds that were waiting to be used.

"There are places out there that have capacity desperate to get beds but Minister Bishop
has sat on her hands ... refusing to license the beds and older people have been waiting,"

she told state parliament today.
